CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


KRIPALU & MEDITATION

A form of Hatha Yoga using inner focus, meditation, standard yoga poses, breath work, development of a quiet mind, and relaxation. Kripalu emphasizes "following the flow"  of prana, or life-forcesenergy, compassion, self-acceptance, observing the activity of the mind without judgment, and taking what is learned into daily life.

HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga uses postures (asana) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility, and relaxation. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, Hatha Yoga brings balance, strength, and a sense of well-being to the practitioner.

ASHTANGA WALL YOGA

Discover your ideal yoga. Using the yoga wall, you can improve your posture, deepen your stretches and hold difficult poses longer. You can also explore the more challenging poses with complete safety. Discover a sense of adventure in your yoga and feel like you are flying!   Audience: For anyone who wants to explore and take their yoga further with the amazing new yoga wall, straps, stability balls, and blocks to deepen stretches and enhance flexibility and strength.

YIN WALL YOGA

Using hooks, straps and a wall, discover Yin-Yang ways to safely strengthen, stretch and relax your body in traditional yoga postures. Deepen your practice by taking your yoga to a whole new level.

WARM YIN

Combines breath and movement to create a continuous flow from posture to posture, to strengthen and stretch, building a strong foundation in a warm room (27˚C). It is invigorating and peaceful; suitable for active beginners.

SHAKTI-YIN YOGA

An adapted yoga practice to fit the participants' abilities. A space mixing asanas, pranayama and meditation allowing the practitioner to get the most benefits in terms of strength, mobility and getting centered. These elements of Yoga, always present, are balanced between playfulness, flow and the calming effect of restorative poses. A progressive, adapted practice to fit your expression of Yoga today.

YOGA FOR RUNNERS
($5 drop in class for non-members)

Cultivate balance between strength and flexibility in the body, increase range of motion and develop focus and body awareness in this yoga class dedicated to runners. Lengthen the muscles that are overworked to help bring the body back into alignment and lessen the risk of injury. We'll use targeted exercises to reawaken and strengthen the feet, ankles and calves. Specific postures will help increase mobility in the hip joints, open up the shoulders and chest, as well as strengthen your core for improved posture. Breath work will help build concentration and mindfulness. This class will also benefit spinning enthusiasts and walkers alike.

STRETCH & BREATHE

Who benefits from this class? Those with arthritis, office employees, mobility issues and seniors. How? This class aims to improve mobility, increase circulation and calm the mind. 

CORE VINYASA (FLOW)

The "core" is a popular term that refers to the muscle group surrounding and traversing the hip area. It is an extremely important region for postural adaptation. The goal of this class has a far deeper impact than simply toning your abs. Not only will you considerably strengthen your muscular hip belt, but you'll progress through the class by exploring functional movements that seek to support your daily movement. 

GENTLE YOGA & MEDITATION

Open your body to the new day with an energizing yet mindful yoga practice. This class focuses on restoring your body while using breath work and meditation. You’ll leave class feeling refreshed and centered, ready to start your day!

HOT FLOW

This journey on your mat will help set you free; free of karma that conditions your soul. Coordinating breath with movements in postures will guide you to your inner beach where waves of sweat will purify your body, heal your soul and bring you to the meditative state of no-mind. In Savasana every story will dissolve, "deconditioning" happens and you meet your peaceful warrior within.

HOT YIN YANG

Designed to offer the balancing effects of both passive and active yoga styles, this class will develop your strength, stamina and flexibility through the yang asana practice and then allow you to withdraw into stillness as you work through the yin postures. This combination will lead to a deep, integrated and satisfying practice.

PILATES (Jocelyne)

Pilates is a conditioning routine that can help improve circulation, flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance. This sequence can help improve and maintain posture and balance, and can aid in the relief of tension and stress. Through a series of floor exercises, the intensity of Pilates can be increased over time as the body conditions itself and adapts to the exercises. For all levels; modified exercises can be given, from beginner to advanced levels.

POWER YOGA ESSENTIALS

The crucial fundamentals to breaking down and building up yoga poses to enhance your yoga practice. Classes are structured around a peak pose and practiced over an 8 week session. This allows the practitioner the opportunity to learn, apply, develop and master the key concepts to unlocking the chosen peak pose. The room environment is set to a comfortable 23 degrees Celcius. 

 YANG-YIN YOGA (WARM)

Suitable for all levels, this yoga class is a combination of some gentle flow movement followed by held poses focusing on deeper stretching. Perfect for those wanting the benefits of the 2 styles of yoga, combined with breath and mediation. Taught by a physiotherapist.

 YOGA TONIC

Strengthen and revitalize the body, mind and spirit through the tonic power of yoga. Enjoy a unique class that blends postures with dynamic fluid movements that simultaneously strengthen and lengthen your muscles while releasing the joints, allowing you to experience your yoga poses more deeply. Benefit from improved posture, decreased muscular tension and a calm and rejuvenated mind. 

PILATES (Karen)

Pilates is an intense mat workout designed to tone your whole body from head to toe while stretching and lengthening the body. You will lose inches. If you want fast results, Pilates is the class for you. Transform your body!
